allergy trifectaI love Spring! Flowers are blooming, grass turns green and pollen is in the air! And right now the Bay Area, where I live, is thriving in pollen from all the much-needed rain we’ve received.

In the past this was my worse time of year because I suffered with allergies. I grew-up on a farm in Connecticut and was allergic to just about everything; hay, rag weed, house dust, flowers and cats. I can remember sneezing consecutively until I was weak. It was terrible. I had to get an allergy shot once a week and took pills that made me sleepy.

After high school I moved to the desert in Arizona and the allergies seemed to disappear. I assumed I had outgrown them. Fast forward twenty years later and I’m living in the Bay Area and guess what? The allergies returned. I was hosting a live call-in radio show at the time and people were actually calling in, not to ask a question, but to give me suggestions on how to alleviate the allergies. Nothing worked. And I did not want to take medication again!

It was around this time that I was studying to become a hypnotist. My instructor was working with me one day and right before the session ended, gave me a simple suggestion: “You have no more allergies, you are completely allergy free.” I had actually forgotten he said this until a few days later, while hosting the radio show, my nose was clear and my eyes weren’t tearing. Wow! I was amazed!

I started testing myself to see if this was truly happening. I went for a walk in the Rose Garden which was in full bloom. I let my friends cat sit in my lap while we watched a movie. I was fine! No allergy symptoms at all. This was one of the first big ‘convincers’ for me that hypnosis really does help alleviate physical symptoms. On another day during my hypnosis training I regressed to several childhood emotional issues that acted as the starting point with the allergies. That was in 1993. Today I remain allergy free!

Another great allergy blaster is what I call the trifecta of allergy relief. This is a combination of three essential oils; lavender, peppermint and lemon. This combination works wonders to cleanse the air of pollen or dust spores that are floating around causing havoc. Lavender aids in relaxation which helps to open tight airways. Lemon is an astringent that also boosts energy levels. Peppermint helps to clear the sinus passages and relieve headaches that often accompany allergy symptoms.

Several drops of each can be added to a diffuser which is the best way to cleanse the environment. You can also add some drops to a cup of water and breathe in deeply – just be cautious not to put your nose too close to the cup as the peppermint can be strong!

If you suffer from allergies I encourage you to give both hypnosis and essential oils a go. Both are safe modalities to help alleviate the discomforts caused by allergies. Try them, and you can love Spring again too!

When people call me asking if hypnosis will help their issue, they are usually thinking in terms of getting fixed quick; they want the presenting problem to go away as fast as it can. Initially, they may not be interested in investing lots of time or money into getting help because they’ve already been down that road with other therapies.

What I explain to people is this: Hypnosis is a great modality to end unhealthy, unwanted habits and a wonderful tool for behavior modification. A client walks in as a smoker and leaves a non-smoker. The client with fears or phobias ends the session able to get on the plane, drive over a bridge or hike in the woods where there might be a snake or spider. In this aspect, hypnosis is a quick fix and for many, the only fix they will need.

However, one of the questions I ask my potential new client is how long they have been indulging in the habit they no longer want, or living with the fear that has kept them locked down? If we looked at the presenting problem as an egg, this would be the outer shell. Inside that shell is the source of life to their problems: Low self-esteem, lack of confidence, being an  abuse or rape victim, fear, or guilt. The habit is how they have been coping with the real issue. The habit has been the band-aide to get them through the day. This is when hypnosis should be used as a longer process.

Your subconscious mind is the storehouse of memory for all your life experiences, both good and bad. At some point in time, usually when you were young, something happened to you that went into your subconscious mind and became the initial imprint for the problem you are dealing with today. Why are you self-conscious? What is the cause for such low self-esteem? What was the start of the anger issues? Only by going into your subconscious mind, via hypnosis, can the initial imprint be targeted and released.

So I tell the new client, hypnosis is a process. You can leave my office after one visit feeling great and ready to tackle the immediate challenge at hand, but realize you didn’t just wake-up one day with low self-esteem, anger issues or poverty consciousness. This way of thinking, feeling and behaving took time to become the foundation for who you believe yourself to be. And if you really want to create positive, permanent change in your life, I suggest you commit to a hypnosis program. And although a program will involve four or more sessions, it won’t be a ‘this-will-never-end-cycle’ of constantly going over the same situations in your mind again and again, as in classical talk therapy.

You’ll be able to release the source of the problems and all other contributing factors and then replenish your subconscious mind with the new thoughts, feelings and actions of how you want to be living your life. You’ll learn how to retrain your brain and change your perspective on how you choose to respond to the world around you.

Potential new clients get pretty excited when they learn they can take back control over their life and become the person they’ve always yearned to be in just a few months and not years invested in therapy. And of course, they always have a choice. That’s what freedom is all about.

Happy-New-Year-Banner-3You have the power and the ability to make this year your best one yet. That’s right, and wishing and hoping has nothing to do with it!

It’s not about New Years Resolutions. It’s not about what you wish and hope will happen. It’s about making a decision and keeping your mind focused on the positive aspect once that decision has been made! What kind of decision you ask? How about deciding to stay more positive in the face of adversity? How about dedicating a few minutes every day for quiet, inner reflection? How about deciding to cancel out the negative chatter before you think those thoughts too long? Decide to do these steps and you will have created your best year yet. The rest of what you want to manifest will easily follow. And that’s what I want to talk about now!

Goals! Are goals important? Yes, goals are important because you need to have a specific picture to focus on when thinking about what you want. Remember, the Universe is a bountiful, gracious, 360º Giver. But it needs a form in which to pour itself into. Imagine a pitcher full of clear refreshing water. You are very thirsty. Won’t that water taste great? The Universe wants to give you this water. But if you don’t have a glass, where will the water go? The same is true with goals. You need to have a clear picture with what you want. “I want to be happy” isn’t a clear picture, there’s no place to pour that water. “I will walk for twenty minutes every morning and I will be happy” is a picture.

STOP!!!! Don’t go any further in this post until you’ve answered this next section.

First question. What is a goal you really want to bring into your life? Be daring, right here, right now, and declare what it is you want to do for yourself. Don’t say a goal you think you should want or what you think other people want you to want (because that isn’t confusing!) I’m asking you to declare a goal for you!

For example, one of my big goals for 2016 is to actually start writing the book that has been brewing inside of me for so long. This may not seem like a big deal, but this is the first year I’ve actually declared that as MY goal! So what is it for you? Write it down on an index card.

Next question. Why did you choose that goal? Again, this is honesty and specificity for you. This is the soul purpose or the heart of your goal.

As a hypnotist, I help people quit smoking all the time. When I ask them why they want to be a non-smoker they’ll usually say ‘because it’s bad for me’. That may be a true reason but it’s not a very happy reason to quit smoking. After some thought I’ll hear things like: I want to quit so I can save money. I want to quit so I can watch my grandchildren get married. See the difference? So what is your why for that goal? Write it down on an index card.

Last question: How are you going to accomplish this? Every goal to be reached should have at least five objectives, or action steps. Take a moment and write down five action steps you can do to help you reach your goal. These action steps are the ‘how to’ for your goal.

Keep these index cards with you. You might want to keep a set in your purse or wallet so you can read them during the day and another set by your bed at night. Read the cards right before drifting off to sleep and then again before getting out of bed in the morning. This is the first step in imprinting your subconscious mind with what you want to attract into your life.

The next step is to take some time, each day, to imagine yourself already doing, being, having your goal. Really get into it. Imagine yourself using all your senses, as if you’ve already accomplished the goal. How does it feel? Then, let it go!

You’ve just sent your order to the Universe. You’ve wrapped that order with images and feelings (positive emotions). Now the Universe has a form to pour its life-giving energy into. Take time each day to energize this goal and sooner than you think you’ll be amazed to realize you’ve attained it.

Law of Assumption: Here’s the missing ingredient to the Law of Attraction. Once you’ve taken the time to do the mental work of picturing and feeling what you want, get up and ACT as if you already have it! Don’t allow the thoughts of doubt to creep in. (If you have not yet read and worked with my previous posts on how to let go of the old patterns, I encourage you to do so!) Keep your mind focused on the decision that you made, then trust that the Universal Giver will honor those thoughts when the timing is best.

May 2016 be your best year yet – make it so!

GoalsThe exercise I’m sharing today is one I’ve posted before and it is an important step in the process of manifesting health, wealth and abundant living. I encourage you to give your ‘mock-up’ space the respect it deserves and you will reap the benefits of taking this extra time of preparation. And this is the perfect time of year to be doing so!

I am constantly amazed at how the quality of my life keeps getting better and better in all areas of living and I know it’s because I faithfully work these exercises every year! In this past year of 2015 I have tripled my income as a hypnotist by attracting more clients and students. I have manifested a beautiful two-story loft for my hypnosis practice in Berkeley, California and I bought a new car. My health is fantastic and my marriage grounded and sound.

I’m not bragging. I’ve been on the other side of this picture. While raising my children as a single parent I was on welfare. I cleaned houses as I transitioned off state aide before taking the leap in faith by becoming a certified hypnotist. BUT, I was continually working on my inner self, cleansing my subconscious mind and working on my levels of havingness.

Tilling the soil of your subconscious mind can be compared to preparing the soil of a garden before planting new seeds; you want to uproot and cast aside the old, frozen stuck ways of thinking and feeling. These are the blocks, or, rocks, imbedded in your subconscious mind that creates the belief in thinking of lack and limitation. If you plant a new seed idea without clearing the soil, it most likely won’t sprout into what you desire. You need to clean out or destroy the old before bringing in, or creating, the new. This is the concept of creating and destroying.

Imagine you were given a bunch of money to buy a complete new wardrobe. When you get home from your shopping spree what must you do before putting away your new attire? You need to throw away the old worn clothing from the closet to make room for the new! The same is true for your subconscious mind; you need to clear out the closet of old thoughts of lack, limitation, poor health etc. before putting in the new thoughts of health, wealth and abundant living.

For this exercise, I suggest you get a small notebook, as you’ll be working with this for at least a week. You’re going to take a walk through your life as it is, right now. I want you to write down all the uncomfortable thoughts, disappointments and feelings around every aspect of your life. This isn’t meant to be a bummer session! It’s important to acknowledge where you are in any given moment of time. In scripture it says, “For nothing is secret that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hidden, that shall not be known and come to light.” Luke 8:17

Once you admit, which is to confess, how you feel about certain aspects of yourself and your life you allow yourself to realize you don’t need to stay in that state of mind any longer! It’s when we deny or pretend that the complaints, worries, disappointments are NOT there is when we block ourselves from moving forward with positive change.

Exercise:

In the notebook, create categories to help keep your thoughts organized. For example:

Physical: Start with your body. How do you really feel about it? Unhappy with the tummy? Wish the face didn’t sag at the jaw line? Write down all the feelings and thoughts about your body. You can even begin with “I admit I have these thoughts and feelings….” because now you’ve brought it out into the light!

Move out to the place where you live; your house or apartment. The neighborhood. Some things you have no control over and this isn’t about running away from situations. Again, it’s about acknowledging your thoughts and feelings.

What about your car or mode of transportation – write it all down!

Financial: What are your thoughts/feelings about your back account? Any debt, your job or lack of employment? Get the idea?

Mental: What are your thoughts about yourself or the world around you? I admit I complain about this or that. I admit I don’t think very highly of myself. I feel inadequate when….

Spiritual: What are your beliefs about God? Do you have any? Do you believe you’re being punished? Not perfect enough? Are you angry at a particular church or priest or minister? Do you remember who you are as spirit? Write it down!

Again, the idea is to till the soil of your subconscious mind to bring up all the old stuck ways of thinking and feeling. After you’ve taken the time each day doing this, go back and write down the positive things in each category. This will help neutralize any discomfort during this important process. I like to end each session by blessing everything I have no matter how I feel about it at the time. And remember, once you truly accept where you are the good news is – you don’t have to stay there!

Me on rock

New Hampshire

It’s hard to believe four years have passed since the Universe offered me such a great opportunity for growth and change. And I’m not so sure the word ‘offer’ is quite accurate because at the time it felt like I had been punched in the stomach. I’ve never really spoken about what happened but so many people have asked me about this, I decided to share my story. Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to keep this short. Ish.

Since 1982 I had been involved with a non-profit organization whose original mission was to help individuals get in touch with the God of their Heart and establish a personal relationship with Divine Source. I was ordained as a minister in 1983, was appointed Assistant Pastor of the church in 1984 and held the office of Bishop from 1994 until my departure in 2011. Within the organization was a school for metaphysical studies and also a school for hypnosis training and certification, both of which I was a director and principle instructor.

Many internal changes took place through the years and eventually it became a sick and toxic place – only I didn’t quite see it at the time. Yes, I saw things shifting and moving away from the original intention of the organization but I also continued to believe, very deeply, in the original picture and mission of the church. So I kept smiling and doing my best to keep things flowing by being a good steward and shepherd of the flock. Then in June 2011 I was called to an impromptu Board meeting. There were three board members at the time, myself and two other women. The other two had decided (without a vote I might add) that they thought it would be best for the organization if I no longer received a monthly stipend for my services; that because there had been a decline in students it would financially help the organization if I worked for free. But, I could keep 20% of all the hypnosis work I did.

I think this is when I had my first real out of body experience. I could see them talking and smiling but I was floating far above them, as if in a tunnel. Their voices were muddled. I wasn’t comprehending the logic of what I had heard. No stipend. No income. How was I going to pay my rent? How were my husband and I going to make ends meet on one income? I came back into my body hearing these words, ‘Debi, we can’t lower our stipends because we have bills to pay, you understand!’ Oh yes, I did understand. I understood how, even though these two women did not pay rent or utilities or gas for their free cars, that they were both stuck in survival, lack and limitation. I understood that even though they taught the techniques and concepts and stood behind the pulpit in service they did not, in that moment, have the faith they professed to maintain. I also understood I was leaving.

I took a week to meditate on my next step to make sure I wasn’t having a knee jerk reaction before sending in my letter of resignation. I was devastated. I was hurt. I was really pissed off. And I was so scared. I always thought I’d be at that place for the rest of my life, helping people, teaching and healing. All my sense of personal value was stripped. I felt like I had nothing to offer. If the people I had known, worked with and loved for twenty-nine years didn’t see me as anyone with value or purpose how could I help anyone else? One thing became very clear to me. All my years in training of applying the techniques and concepts had brought me to this point in time. The teaching was about to begin.

Hypnosis: Every day I went into hypnosis to release the emotional pain I was experiencing. Situations from my childhood were also bubbling to the surface because the emotions were similar. It was amazing to see how much crap I was still holding on to from years before. After the intensity began to subside I used hypnosis to create my new image of who I wanted to become.

Prayer: I prayed. Constantly. Sometimes my prayers were more of a plea, often I found myself begging for some divine intervention of understanding. But mainly I prayed to have the anger removed from my space and to allow forgiveness to flow for the situation and everyone involved. This didn’t happen overnight, but the bubble finally popped and I was set free.

Hiking: My husband and I started walking and hiking. Every day. Nature became our sanctuary. It’s difficult to hold on to hurt feelings under a canopy of redwood trees. And breathing in fresh ocean air can cleanse your mind and rejuvenate your soul faster than any written script or sermon. So the outdoors became our pulpit for the new beginnings in which we had embarked upon. And we continue to walk or hike every day!

Within one month of resigning I started a new business and created a new web site. Today I am humbled by our ever abundant, gracious Father and Universe for sending people to me for whom I can offer help and solace. I’ve worked with more people these last four years on my own than I ever was able to attract at the other organization. The Lord does work in mysterious way. I regret nothing from the past and am so grateful for this journey and look forward to all the adventures yet to come. And that’s my story. Or at least a good chunk of it.

oilsLet me start by saying I am not a fanatic bible thumping oiler. I’m not writing this blog to push anything on anyone. I just want to share how I’m using essential oils in conjunction with my hypnosis practice, with lots of positive results.

My original intention for purchasing a diffuser and a bunch of oils was to make my house and office smell nice. The more I started to learn about the specific use each oil had and the more I researched about the healing properties the oils hold, the more excited I became. Now I use the oils every day, in both my home and healing center. The oils I purchase are from Young Living. After doing my own research on various companies I chose Young Living because the quality of their oils is superior than others I have purchased in the past. I found it interesting to learn that many essential oil companies either dilute the oils with other products or bottle the oils after the second or third distilling which renders the quality of the oils much weaker and not as effective. Take lavender for example. Pure 100% lavender is fabulous for treating burns and I always have a bottle in my kitchen. However, if you buy lavender that says it’s pure but has an additive in it, you could possibly make the burn worse. So my rule of thumb with anything I buy is ‘pay a bit more and get the best.’

I use essential oils in my hypnosis practice as another tool in the tool box. Before I see a client I’ll start diffusing an oil that will help alleviate the issue they are working on. I have a client who suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Before she comes in I make sure I have a combo of lemon and peppermint diffusing in the air. Both of these oils are great for lethargy and energy loss and helps boost mental clarity. Another client has so much on her agenda that she’s always feeling scattered and has a hard time winding down. I’ll have an essential oil blend called Gathering in the diffuser when she arrives. Gathering combines galbanum, frankincense and sandalwood oils. Together they help to collect emotional and spiritual energy, helping to enhance the state of wholeness and unity. Before we start the session I dab Stress Away on her wrists and temples to assist in the relaxation process. Then I proceed with the hypnosis, helping her go to the source of when these hectic patterns of behavior were first imprinted into her subconscious mind.

I love creating an environment and holding the space for healing and positive change to occur. When people see me for spiritual guidance and deeper emotional issues I’ll often include in the session a powerful healing technique called Christ Force Healing. This involves placing my hands on the soles of their feet to help channel this powerful Universal Energy through their body. I first anoint the bottoms of their feet with frankincense oil. This is an ancient oil that helps rid anxiety, sadness and despair and is useful for visualizing and improving one’s spiritual connection and centering. I received an email from one of my clients after she received this healing and she said, “Since that session with you, a whole layer of my depression has lifted, and I don’t believe it will return.” This was four months ago and I’m happy to say she continues to be well. Please note, that as a hypnotist and oil user, I don’t treat, diagnose or cure. I simply use the oils as an aide as I guide people into their subconscious mind for self-discovery and inner change. This is called Transformational Healing.

My desire is to help people release anything that blocks them from living a life of health, wealth and abundance. I will use whatever tools I have to assist them in that process.

Santa-listBefore I share the next exercise, here’s a quick review of the exercises I’ve offered so far on our quest for living the abundant life.

We started with the Purge List: Writing down all the hurts, resentments and misgivings, those complaints and pet peeves you’ve been carrying around with you for so long. This began the process of stirring up and purging negativity from your subconscious mind.

Next I posted the Forgiveness Exercise video. This helped you release the past-time pain pictures so you could start healing your emotional body.

After that we focused on all the different areas of life where we had uncomfortable feelings. The categories for this were Physical, Emotional, Mental, Financial and Spiritual. The idea is that when we admit we have uncomfortable thoughts and feelings towards people, places and conditions in our life, we have let the light shine on those dark corners and the situations no longer have power over us. This work was done while listening to Mary Poppins singing her happy tune, ‘Just A Spoonful Of Sugar’! The exercise was completed by counting your blessings for all the positive things you are thankful for in your life today. This started to flip the polarity in your subconscious mind and re-frame your mind to focus on the positive which helped set the tone for a grateful Thanksgiving.

New Exercise: Your Wish List!

We’re still in the cleansing process but starting to put attention on what we want to manifest for the new year. Get your paper and pen ready. For those of you who grew-up celebrating Christmas with Santa Claus, this is akin to the letters we’d write to him each year, asking to leave all those fabulous toys under the Christmas Tree. There’s a great prosperity lesson within those letters to Santa that I’ll share in another post!

Step 1:
Write down everything you want to bring in to your life. The small and the big, the medium to the ginormous! Don’t worry about how you’ll be able to manifest each item. Take some time and focus on what you’d really like to have. Be sure to include good health on your wish list!

Step 2:
Get your mind quiet. Go back over the list and write down next to each item all the reasons why you can’t have those things. “I don’t have enough money, I don’t have enough time, I don’t have the space…” You get the idea! What you’re doing is shedding light on the blocks in your subconscious mind. These blocks have turned into beliefs. I bet you really do believe those reasons that dictate why you can’t manifest something! A belief is something we consistently think, picture and feel about ourselves and the world around us. It’s time to change your belief system, don’t you agree?

Step 3:
After you’ve completed Step 2, take a little break, then get your mind quiet again. Go back over your wish list and with each item ask the question, ‘who does not want me to have this?’ Don’t try to think of the answer. From the quiet stillness simply let a name come into your awareness. Why is this step important? Because quite often we get stuck in life based on how other people want us to be. People get comfortable when they have access to us, be it emotionally, physically – even spiritually. When we change our vibration by creating positive change in our life, those individuals get bumped out of their comfort zone and have to adjust. Another reason someone may appear next to an item on your wish list is because they’re in competition with you. If they can’t have something they certainly don’t want you to have it! This doesn’t mean these individuals are bad people. You’re simply beginning to discern energy in your space. There’s an old saying; misery not only loves company, it seriously demands it! Let yourself have fun with this process.

Step 4:
Now you’re going to burn everything you’ve written! Your Wish List with the reasons you can’t have those things and the names of the people who don’t want you to have them. That’s right! Get a big bowl or metal container and burn the paper. Watch the flames. Fire is a very powerful cleansing symbol for your subconscious mind. This action represents you releasing the old beliefs and purging your subconscious mind, clearing the way to begin planting the new seed ideas you want to be experiencing in 2015.

tombstoneAdded Bonus Exercise:
If you REALLY want to have some fun, write these words on separate pieces of paper: Can’t. Won’t. Shouldn’t. Impossible. Fear. Now go outside and have a funeral for those words. Bury them in the ground. Make the decision those words and the beliefs that are attached to them are dead to you. Say your good-byes and get rid of them! Anytime you find yourself thinking those dead words you will remember that you buried them and you’ll flip your mind in that instant, back to the positive way of thinking!

After the Winter Solstice on December 21st I’ll begin posting the exercises for manifesting. The energy flips on the Solstice, the purging season is complete and we focus on the Light and new awareness! Until then, keep up the good work of letting go!

Who-am-I-Why-am-I-here-Real-Self-Elizabeth-Clare-ProphetThe picture I chose for this post is one I used to have hanging on my wall in the late 1970’s when I was learning how to take my first baby steps on my spiritual journey. I’m not a follower or student of the Summit Lighthouse, I’ve just always loved this image as it truly depicts the message I’m inspired to share today.

I’ve been a student, practitioner and teacher of the spiritual, metaphysical mind sciences since 1978. I was raised in a Catholic family in a small New England town so my roots are deeply and faithfully Christian based. When I began to study and be exposed to more esoteric teachings I had a difficult time fully grasping the concept that there is no separation in Divine Mind. What did this mean and how did it affect my ability to create and manifest the life I wanted?

Most people, when they think of God, get an image of a Deity or old man sitting off on a cloud someplace passing judgement down upon the people. I know I did. So when I was told God was having a great time being me, I just didn’t get it. It was many years before I began to truly awaken to my Divine Self. (Hey, this is a planet for slow learners, right?)

When I say ‘God’ I’m referring to a Consciousness. A Supreme Consciousness. A Consciousness we all have the ability to tap into and bring into our physical body. This is the consciousness, the awareness that knows nothing about lack, limitation, can’t, impossible and notions of that nature. This consciousness simply gives us what we ask for, every day. Remember, your word has power. Everything you say is a prayer for or against yourself. I’ve written about this before. Keep talking about negative things happening to you and you will attract more negative situations into your life. Why? Because the Ears of the Universe are always listening, they just don’t have the ability to sort out good, bad, right or wrong. They hear what you say and think, over and over with your emotional power and send you those experiences. Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it!

My passion, when helping people awaken to their higher self, is to show how spirituality is practicality. Being spiritual doesn’t mean you’re floating in the clouds every day completely out of touch with reality. It is awakening to who you are as spirit, connected with the Supreme Consciousness, Supreme Being, Father of Lights, Christos . . . whatever word or title works best for you. And for any feminists reading this, Father, in my world, is not a stereotype icon putting women in the subservient role. I’ve always liked the explanation my teacher gave to me:

Father is Fat/Her. The pregnant One, filled and ready to give birth to our ideas and creations. Father also means the Feeder of our awareness. “Give us this day, our daily bread” equates to “feed us each day with Your energy and awareness”. Being spiritual is using the gifts and talents you were born with in such a way that you are able to prosper and live the abundant life.

When we have our attention focused within to this presence of consciousness, we have taken the steps to lift our awareness up out of our limited personality to be more in alignment with Divine Source. The more we practice being present with this Higher Consciousness, the more we are able to realize our dreams and goals truly can be made manifest in our lives. Let’s hear a big Woo Hoo!

The easiest way to access this spiritual consciousness is with hypnosis. Why? Because hypnosis helps you bypass the critical factor of your conscious mind and brings you into the arena of your subconscious. The critical mind wants to debate, argue, look for proof, doubt and come up with all the reasons why you can’t be One with Divine Source. The critical conscious mind is a body level of awareness and very limited.

The subconscious mind is the storehouse of memory of all your life experiences, connected to the Akashic Records, your Book of Life. The subconscious mind knows no difference between reality and fantasy so accepts ideas and acts upon them as the truth. With the conscious mind moved aside in hypnosis, the subconscious will readily accept the truth when hearing “Hello, you are spirit. Your body is the house you live in right now.” The subconscious is limitless. It is also the gateway to your higher or super consciousness.

Study the picture I posted. The physical you is on the bottom. Your subconscious is the middle image, your Higher Self. The top image represents the presence of I Am. When we are in alignment with our personal Holy Trinity is when we can fully understand and recognize that there is no separation in Divine Mind. With our awareness focused on this vibration is when we can manifest in the positive.

As a spiritual hypnotist, I introduce my clients to their personal Holy Trinity as this: The conscious mind represents our male energy. Our subconscious mind represents our female energy. Our conscious mind  implants an idea into the subconscious and it manifests into something. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the Communion of our Higher Self, bringing ideas down into our body to be manifested as our new goals. It’s very empowering to awaken to this concept. And when practiced daily, a new level of peace and inner security can be yours because you’ll have the understanding and the experience combined together.

This is why I now know God is having a great time being me! What about you?

One of the biggest challenges I see people dealing with when they want to create change is learning to be happy, or at least accept, where they are in life right now. How many times have you thought something like this: When I lose weight, I’ll be happy. When I finally have a relationship, I’ll be happy. When I have more money, I’ll be happy. When I move to a better location, I’ll be happy.

What’s your personal mantra for this? Fill in the blank for yourself: When ___________________, I’ll be happy.

All these conditions to personal happiness become the carrot being dangled out in front of you. You’re taking all your creative energy and sending it out to the future and leaving nothing to create with for the here and now. Your subconscious mind has been programmed on different levels.

Program #1) You can’t be happy right now because you haven’t met that goal.
Program #2) The belief states the goal is unattainable because so far, nothing has happened.
Program #3) There is something wrong with the way your life is today.

The first step to spiritual unfoldment is to learn to accept where you are in the moment. Once you do that the following realization is, you don’t have to stay there! By acknowledging the situations and circumstances that cause you to be unhappy is shining the light on them. Until now, you’ve been shoving them under the carpet, resisting them and wishing they’d just go away, while projecting all your feel good positive energy to some illusive time and place out into the future. This pattern gets exhausting and tends to create disease because you are not at ease in your thinking!

Does this mean you’ll never be able to create those changes? Of course not! But there is some housecleaning to be done! Are you ready? Let’s start some Mary Poppins music “Just A Spoonfull of Sugar” because this CAN be fun!

Grab your paper and pen. You’re going to create categories for the different aspects of your life. Examples:

Physical: Start with your body. Move out to your home. Your neighborhood etc. Write down what it is you don’t like about those things. Start the sentence with “I admit, I have uncomfortable feelings about……” and write them down. For instance: “I admit I have uncomfortable feelings about my weight….” By stating ‘I admit’ is akin to shining the light into a dark corner. You are acknowledging those thoughts and feelings are there. The moment you acknowledge their existence is the moment those conditions and circumstances begin to lose control over you. Take your time with this before moving to the next category.

Emotional: Write down the situations that push those emotional buttons. I admit, I get angry when I’m stuck in traffic, my boss yells at me, I admit I’m unhappy that I don’t have a relationship etc. Get them all out! The people and situations you are not neutral to – write them down!

Mental: What is the negative babble running through your mind? You know what I’m talking about, the negative self-talk that seems to flow so clear and strong. I admit I am tired of thinking I am unworthy. I admit I have negative thoughts about…you’re getting the idea now, aren’t you? That’s right!

Financial: Here’s a fun category! What can we find here? I admit I have fear about my bank account. Debt. Retirement. Write it all down. You want to purge yourself of all the uncomfortable feelings and beliefs that have been your personal roadblock to abundant living.

Spiritual: Are there stuck pictures in your subconscious mind about God and religion from your childhood? Do you believe you are not worthy to have a personal relationship with your Higher Self? Write this all down. Are you pissed at the Universe for the situation you are in today? You got it – write that down too!

Important next step! After you’ve written down what you are unhappy about from each category, go back and write down three to five aspects about those same things you are thankful for: I am grateful that I have a body. I love my eyes. I love the color of my living room walls in my home….see?. This is super important because one, you won’t be leaving yourself in a bummer state of mind after doing the exercise. And two, as you proclaim your thankfulness and gratitude for everything in your life you are actually blessing and energizing your life in the positive. You’ve finally moved onto the acceptance step and have started the process of abundant living! Now you can be at peace because you have allowed yourself to be there while knowing you can and will take the positive steps to create change. I created this Forgiveness Exercise video a while ago. I encourage you to work with this every day. You’ll be amazed how you will be able to clear your subconscious mind of the imprints and uncomfortable emotions you’ve been carrying for so long.
