Newton’s Law of Inertia states: “An object at rest tends to stay at rest  until an outside force acts upon it. And an object in motions tends to stay in motion until an outside force acts upon it.” At least that’s how I remember the Law from 8th grade science!

So how does this relate to the use of our minds? And, by the way, I wish I could say I came up with the statement ‘Overcoming the inertia of your mind….’ but I didn’t. Credit goes to my husband, I just decided to use it officially! But getting back to the topic….

When I first started on my spiritual path my teacher told me I was lazy-minded. What? That can’t be! Look how busy I am every day! I go to work, I ride my bike, I come to class each night…. I am NOT lazy. Defensive, maybe. But certainly not lazy. He just laughed. Then he explained being busy isn’t the same thing as correctly using my mind. And when I reflected on this, I had to admit he was right. It took me several months when I was a new student before I had created a dedicated space to meditate each day. It took me even longer before I sincerely started practicing all the hypnosis/mind science techniques I was learning in the annual Prosperity Workshops he taught each December. Why? Because it was easier NOT to sit down and actually work the information.

I had to create a whole new mind-set and habit patterns. At first, when it was time to sit and practice what I was learning, everything else called to me; clean the house, write a letter, wash my clothes….busy, busy, busy! My mind was stuck in a comfort groove of keeping me locked in a non-movement state of lack and limitation. I was so used to being in that state of mind that it was easier to succumb to remaining stuck than working the energy to rise above it and break the bad mental habits. I was the object at rest….

Once I cleared out the mental blocks and old energy patterns life started getting easier. I was motivated to continue learning, growing and changing. I had goals and I was reaching them. I was also using hypnosis! Hypnosis is the best way I know to overcome the inertia of your mind. Why? Because you are entering the arena of your subconscious mind where all your habits and patterns are created and stored and releasing the old ways that don’t work for you anymore. But beware! By nature the subconscious mind is lazy! It likes keeping things the way they are, even if it means your health and well being are being jeopardized.

This is why working with a hypnotist is beneficial. The hypnotist knows how to communicate with your subconscious to create motivation and desire! Match that with your conscious desire to create positive change and you’ve got a powerful modality for healing to take place.

Where are you in regards to your goals and dreams right now? Do you say you want to: quit smoking, lose weight, start exercising, eat healthier foods….but find yourself still doing the same old things? Or maybe you go for a day or a week with your new action plan and then revert back to the old because it’s ‘too hard’ to stick with the diet or get outside and move your body. You need to overcome the inertia of your mind. You need to create a burning desire within yourself and find someone to help you keep your commitment to stay true to your goal!

Naturally, I suggest and encourage you to seek out a qualified hypnotist in your area. And if you can’t find one – I’m available via Skype. I also have a special going on right now for personalized hypnosis recordings. I usually don’t advertise like this but I am passionate about helping you be successful in creating positive change!
